MEET ALISON VAN DIGGELEN Alison was born in bonnie Scotland and worked in London, Paris and Glasgow before moving to Silicon Valley, California in 1994. Alison van Diggelen is founder and host of FreshDialogues.com, a venue for her lively interviews of Silicon Valley personalities and business and cultural leaders, especially those focused on the green revolution. She has written dozens of profiles of Silicon Valley entrepreneurs and movers and shakers for Silicon Valley Business Journal and Valley Life Quarterly Magazine. She also writes commentary for National Public Radio and KLIV radio. For years, Alison wrote a popular parenting column in the San Jose Mercury News and a lifestyle/humor column in Silicon Valley Biz Ink. Her writing has also appeared in The Financial Times of London, United Parenting Publications and The Glasgow Herald. Previously, Alison was founder and editor of Siliconmom.com, an award winning website for mothers looking for thought-provoking content and trusted resources on subjects ranging from school test scores to kid's health and ways to live a "greener" life and stop global warming. She created the site in 2000 to give mothers a voice on the web and to connect the commonality of their experience. Siliconmom.com was a finalists for the Website of the Year Award on BayArea.com and earned Alison a nomination for a Woman of Achievement Award by the Women's Fund of Silicon Valley, and recognition from U.S. Congressman, Mike Honda. Alison has appeared on "Mornings on Two" Breakfast Television, "Silicon Valley Business" (Channel 6), "Sport of Motherhood Cable Show," American Association of University Women (Silicon Valley) Show," KQED radio and BBC radio. She has a BSc. from Paisley University (Scotland), and a Master's in Land Economics from Cambridge University.
